Tour Options at Royal Albert Hall (London) - recommendation?

There is the Grand Tour and Secret Tour that are most frequently offered and not sure which would be best for our group which will be two adults and one 13 year old. We have never been to the RHA before if that helps with suggestions.
Kind Regards, Jen

I recently took a one-hour tour before an afternoon performance. It was pleasant to stroll through the corridors as the guide told stories about the souvenir photos of celebrity performances. From a box we peaked at an on-going rehearsal and visited the private royal quarters. But it is important to know that no backstage access was offered. A couple of times we encountered another, smaller tour group, perhaps the second option you mention. The crowds of customers before and after a show can see a lot of it independently, but obviously in crowds, and the guide's anecdotes gave the tour substance. Nothing can substitute for actually seeing a show in that historic and very accommodating hall.
