Tour idea of London

I am going to be on a tour of London with a high school group. We have scheduled the 3 1/2 hour bus tour past the main sights in London, but we will have free day to see what we want. We want to see the Tower of London, The London Eye and Madame Tussauds. I was looking at a map of the areas and it thought to start at the Tower of London and look at most 2 hours, then go to the Madame Tussauds for an hour or two and then to the London Eye. We probably have to meet back with the group about 5:30 p.m. Do you think this plan is workable? Also, do you know if you have to buy tickets to the Eye and have to come back at a certain time? How does that work. Thank you!

The Tower opens at either nine or ten, depending. Even with the earlier, you don't have time to see all three things, make two intermediate moves and get back somewhere that early. Moving herds takes a lot of time.

Google around. There's a way to schedule Eye rides for groups.

I will only be with my 2 daughters during this free time. So it's a little easier with 3 isn't it?

I've heard that the queues for M.T. can be horrendous later in the day.

I may have screwed up then, never having been in the place -- but walking by, it doesn't seem to be a mess.

I pass Madame Tussauds twice a day and the queues are easily a block or more long. They're getting longer as we get closer to summer. On their website it says that you can prebook your ticket for priority entry...that may be a good option.

The person here who went to Madame Tussauds when she was age 9 did love it at that time, and just showed me a photo of herself with a wax figure. I've never been, generally preferring the free musuems. Or, I would be inclined to cross Tower Bridge and walk along the south embankment, via Shakespeare's Globe theater.

If you really love celebrity waxworks go, but Madame Tussaud's is notorious among Londoners as one of the worst tourist traps in the city.
