Tour Bath or WIndsor before Heathrow stay

Traveling to Scotland and England soon. We fly home from Heathrow on a Sunday morning so we booked a room at the Hilton Garden Inn for Saturday night to make it less stressful. When we check out of our London hotel near South Kensington station that last Saturday morning, I am considering a day trip by train to Bath or Windsor and storing our luggage somewhere. I read on the forum that there is no luggage storage at Windsor station, but there is storage at Bath which I am kind of leaning toward visiting. I thought it be efficient to bring our luggage with us to Bath and store it there before traveling to Heathrow that evening. At first it looked like if we took the train from Bath, we'd have to go back to Paddington and circle back to Heathrow. But if I am reading it right, we may be able to take the train to Reading and then take a bus to Heathrow. Is this the better route? Is it relatively easy to transfer from the train to bus in Reading or should we stick with the train all of the way? I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Consider spending Saturday night in Windsor. It's about a 20 minute cab ride to Heathrow, and your hotel can store your luggage while you explore Windsor. In September 2023, we spent the last night of our trip at the Hotel Castle Windsor, and made it to LHR with plenty of time, even though our pre-booked cab was 20 minutes late.

Yes, the Rail Air bus stops right outside Reading Station and is clearly signed inside the station. If in any doubt ask the staff on the ticket barriers.

There is normally a Rail Air Lounge to wait in, but that is temporarily closed (or was at the start of October).

Stasher has 2 locations in central Windsor for luggage storage, doubtless the other storage apps will have additional locations, but short answer is you can store your luggage in central Windsor.

Windsor for the win, and because it's lovely, and makes more sense for such a short amount of time. Agree about just staying the night in Windsor and dropping off the luggage at the hotel.

Bath is a great side trip from London, but that seems like a very long day right before a long flight back. I would stay in London and see some less visited sites.
