Tour bath and longleat

I have been looking for a two day tour incorporating bath and longleat, departing London in may. I only want to visit these two places, would prefer an overnight stay. Could anyone advise, I've only been able to see tours which incorporate many more locations bundled into a tour allowing very little time in bath, which is my main focus.

I'm guessing you might do better taking the train to Bath on your own, and then joining a day tour to Longleat from Bath. You could even travel from Bath to Longleat by bus, according to this info https://www.rome2rio.com/s/Bath/Longleat

Have you looked for a tour based in Bath? I'm not sure if any of the ones listed on this site might work for you.

Tour operators generally try to take in several destinations because they want to appeal to as many customers as possible. They probably also know that lots of Americans want to visit as many destinations as they can fit into a short vacation.

I have been intrigued by all the suggestions for the best way to get to Longleat. The latest one shows an itinerary using Rome to Rio which includes a bus service which only goes once a week, and where there is no possibility of doing the retuirn journey on the same day,

It's some years since we went to Longleat, but that type of destination usually requires a car. One of the main attractions at Longleat is the Safari Park, which you can drive through by car. One of the common risks (look at the Longleat website) is that the monkeys will remove parts of the car. Not something to recommend if you have a hire car. The wolves and the lions don't have such tastes, while the deer are relatively friendly (if you have food) and harmless.

Incidentally, the maze at Longleat is much larger than the one at Hampton Court, and you can easily get lost there.
