Tottenham Hotspurs match

My husband has followed Tottenham for years and we’d love to attend the match on April 11 in London. What is the best avenue for getting tickets??

It depends on your budget and/or how risk adverse you are. If the sky’s the limit, head to Tottenhams website and become a One Hotspur member (which is free). For the game you want to attend, they have premium tickets for sale direct from their website at a starting price of 359 English Pounds. That’s 359 GB Pounds. Not cheap. Now, I will say the new stadium is spectacular and if it is within your budget, they will take good care of you...great seats, restaurant access, good bar, personalized service etc. We attended the Chicago Bears game this October and purchased the East Stadium boxed seats and with the exception of my Bears team losing, we enjoyed the game and it was worth 300 GBP per ticket (maybe not to my wife or my friend who happens to be a Vikings fan 😁). Alternatively, you can risk the after market ticket services, i.e Ticketmaster, Stub Hub and the like. Tottenham prefers their season ticket holders to sell their unused tickets at their ticket exchange website, however, they don’t really want season ticket holders to sell their tickets above face value. IF you see tickets on their ticket exchange site, grab them. If not, getting them at one of the aforementioned ticket resale shops should work for you. You will likely get a decent ticket at a decent price, however, you run the slight chance that the ticket you purchased from there will be junk. If this were to happen, Ticketmaster or stub hub or the like would likely reimburse you, however, you would instead watch the game at a pub. It comes down to budget and how eager you are to attend a game in person.

Sign up as a supporter on their official website (doesn’t cost any money) and that will give you access to purchase tickets directly from their website. As long as its not a hugely important match it should be straightforward. Don’t buy on third party vendors such as Stubhub.

While not a Spurs supporter (go Man City!) I did go to a Spurs match a few years ago when in London and had a great experience. I got excellent seats for a cheap price, purchased about 3 weeks in advance. Tickets were mailed to me but there may be an option to pick up at stadium.

The risk is much more than slight. Unlicensed reselling of football tickets is illegal (as in against the law). Consider that is who and what you're dealing with when you part with your cash. It's Spurs or Tottenham Hotspur.

You can sign up on the Hotspurs website to register your interest as a supporter without charge. That will give you access to Premium Packages or any tickets that make it to the general sale. The issue is that non-premium package tickets do not always make it to the general (non-paying members),at least for top PL league games.

Another option is to go to the authorized ticket resellers that Tottenham partners with to purchase official tickets or packages to their matches, although these are often hospitality packages that often exceed the price of premium seats which you can buy direct from the Hotspurs website:

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club – Tickets (0344 844 0102 - Option 1)
Tottenham Hotspur Football Club – Premium packages (0344 216 2018)
Champions Travel www.champions-travel.com – Official Premium packages
Travel Connection www.travelconnectionleisure.com– Official Premium packages
Eventmasters Travel www.eventmasters.co.uk – Official Premium packages
Go Sport Travel www.gosporttravel.com – Official Premium packages
Club Journeyman http://clubjourneyman.com – Official Premium packages
Football Travel https://footballtravel.com – Official Premium packages
P1 Corporate Hospitality www.p1hospitality.com– Official Premium packages
Mission Impossible www.mitickets.com – Official Premium packages
Sportlux www.sportlux.co.uk - Official Premium Packages

EDIT

This is true that reselling tickets is illegal, but from my understanding, it is not illegal to purchase after market tickets. So you do run the risk of the tickets not working for you, however, after sellers like Stub Hub or Ticketmaster will usually refund your money if that happens.

You have multiple routes to take. As I noted in my first post, purchasing premium tickets direct from the Hotspurs website is my recommendation (if price is not too much of a deal breaker).

Thank you. The only thing I found was signing up for their newsletter, and joining our local fan club, for us, Portland Spurs, is that what you mean by registering as a supporter?

Hi,

Go to the Spurs website, and in the top left corner hit "Sign in." You can then click Register and fill out details. Once you have your account set up (no fee) then you can go to Tickets. For the April 11th game, ticket exchange is not available yet. I'd keep checking back as the game isn't for a couple months. If you really want to lock down tickets now, then check the third party websites but those will be much more expensive.

That said, if there is a local supporter's club for you to join (usually a low cost), they usually can help you with tickets.

Bear in mind that games are often rescheduled to fit the tv schedules, so it could be anytime between Friday evening and Monday evening and will only be confirmed about 3 weeks out.

The “best avenue” for guaranteeing yourselves a ticket is still joining the club. “One Hotspur” membership is the only way to have a sure chance at a regular price ticket. Two quotes from the Spurs website to consider in this regard:

Season Ticket Holders who are unable to attend a game have the ability to list their seat for sale at face value and only those signed up as One Hotspur Members will be able to purchase these seats, if the match doesn't make it to the general sale stage.

Ok, so there’s the general sale stage, except:
the website says:

General Sale - only opens if tickets have yet to sell out
Some restrictions may apply to the general sale, such as being on the Club's database prior to a cut-off date.
No match at our new stadium has reached the General Sale stage.

So general sale isn’t likely. As I read this information, the only way to really have a chance at the season ticket returns would be to have the One Hotspur membership. Why gamble?

With a membership, on the morning when the One Hotspur members window opens for the Everton match, get online early and grab a seat.

Also, be sure to also have the overseas telephone box office number in advance, just in case your credit card number won’t go through. (I’ve been a member of a Premier league club for 22 years, and I still have to call to use my US credit card)

Whatever course you choose, I hope your husband has a chance at some point to live his dream... there’s nothing like singing the songs and living the atmosphere in person.

Another option is to find a local Official Spurs Supporters club near you. As an official supporters club, the president of the local club can apply on your behalf for tickets. You will need to become a One member, but your chances of getting tickets are greatly increased. https://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/fans/supporters-clubs/north-america/. I am doing this with my local club and will be attending the Man U game in March. Good Luck and as always COME ON YOU SPURS :)
