Tis the Season

Tis the season.

As an only child Christmas wasn’t a big deal. Always knew what I was going to get. Also my Mom was famous for gifting herself….To Mary From Mary.

So as I am her daughter… just grabbed two packages from the Amazon Locker. One with some Snickers and the other a new iMac Air.

To Claudia From Claudia

Wishing everyone good cheer and a happy New Year!!!!

And Merry Xmas to you Claudia.

Thank you for your help in 2024. Look forward to more communications in 2025.

Enjoy your new iMac Air. Love Apple products and wish that I could afford an iPhone.

As one of eight children Christmas was a blurred frenzy of wrapping paper and shared gifts. Still the same today with all the children and grandchildren.

Sometimes a quiet holiday sounds nice.

Enjoy your iMac Air and especially your snickers bars.

Merry Christmas and a Happy Travels New Year.

Happy holidays. Snickers as a holiday gift just for me sounds great. I think I'll go out and buy me some. I was a single Mom who didn't have a lot of money, but I always got a Xmas bonus. I would spend it all on my daughter and she usually had more than 2 or 3 kids worth of gifts under the tree on Xmas morning. It was all worth it to see the look on her face.

Claudia,

I was only thinking last night that we hadn't heard from you since you returned from London, and was wondering if all was OK.

Alive. Dealing with the thigh muscle I tore while in London. So lots of R & R.

All good.

Thanks for the concern.

Claudia, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and a Happy New Year, to you and to everyone!

I hope your leg is healing and feeling better.

My husband got me my Christmas present in July.....two small kittens from the animal shelter. When it happened, I told him this could be both my Christmas gift AND my birthday present. Best present ever, those two little ones.

My thoughts at Christmastime turn to my grandparents with whom I spent every Christmas. They are long gone now. My grandfather was born in 1894 to a farm family living on the N.C./Virginia border. When he was a child, what he got for Christmas each year was an orange and a candy cane in his stocking hung by the fireplace, and a pair of socks as a present. He felt fortunate.

May we all feel fortunate for the things we have, not complain about all the material things we don't have, and may Christmas and the holidays be about loving one another. Peace on earth.

Claudia,

I'm reading about the devastating fires in the LA area. As a fellow forum member, I just wanted to check in with you. Hope all is well!

Best, Moomin

I was also thinking about @Claudia. I read that they had closed Griffith Park (wherever that is) and I seem to remember her mentioning going there.

I have spoken with Claudia and she is well.

I’m okay. Live in Hollywood which hasn’t yet been affected by the fires other than the smoke.

Griffith Park is close and is where the Griffith Observatory is located. After 30 years of Location scouting know the roads of LA County. Have an escape plan if forced to flee.

Yesterday’s devastation was East and West of me.

FYI as I lived in a state known for earthquakes I’ve had a “ go bag “ since forever. Vehicle is always fully gassed, have cash and Cc’s, gallon water bottles in vehicle and in apartment, working flashlights, battery operated radio, etc.

As I type this can hear the winds picking up.

I was sick at Christmas time, and missed this thread. So I belatedly share everyone's holiday wishes, and hope for the best year ahead for all.

And thanks for the updates, Claudia and friends. How terrible that fire is! Stay safe, LA friends.
