Tips for SEN airport?

We'll be flying out of "London" this May via the SEN (Southend) airport. It looks like we just catch a train at the Liverpool Street [ed.] Station, yes? Is there anything special to watch out for? It will be a Tuesday and mid-day-ish.

We're not anticipating anything 'odd' but this is RyanAir (who taught us that "Paris" is "Beauvais"!) so there is usually something to watch for! Thanks.

Always call it Liverpool Street Station.

Liverpool station is in Liverpool (which of course is called Lime Street),

Emma, Right you are! And other than LHR, I've never found any of the airports as convenient as we'd like.

In the end, we opted for SEN because the other outbound flights had departures too early to conveniently reach for our typical arrive-very-early pattern, or so late that we'd be looking for our lodgings in the dark.

Thank you for the link. And we'll be staying centrally (nearest: Holborn station) so Liverpool STREET (yes!) Station seemed best.

From Holborn, take the central line to Stratford then catch a train out to Southend Airport. Easier than dealing with Liverpool St Station.

Thanks, Jennifer. We'll give that route a look.

It's in the same rough distance as Luton, Gatwick or Stansted.

Small airport, recently taken up by the low-cost operators. The airport terminal building is a very short walk from the railway station.

I flew out of there once to Amsterdam on Easy Jet. It felt like the furthest of all the so called London airports. Also make sure you put your train ticket in a place that is easy to find when you get off. I think my ticket was checked on the train and then getting off the train at the airport. I remember that because it was annoying.
