Tipping the Barber

I'm planning an extended trip around the UK. That means I'll have to get a haircut at some point. I don't go in for fancy.....Supercuts or the like is fine with me.

What is the tipping policy for barbers?

Some people do tip the barber, but I think these days that is a minority. I cannot imagine in a normal barbers them expecting a tip.

Tipping the barber is in decline. Some still do if it is a place where they are a regular. As a 'casual' I wouldn't feel under any obligation. 'Keep the change' is I guess one of the reasons many barbers price things in odd amounts though.

yep 50p or a £1 max but don't worry of you don't tip no one will feel offended.

Crumbs! £9.50! London weighting.
I pay £6 and leave 20p tip and I am not a pensioner.

Thanks for the info on tipping. I guess it would also be cheaper to get it done anywhere but London.
