Timeout London

Throughout my many years of posting on the London Forum I've touted the usefulness of researching Timeout London.

I'm doing so once again and sharing this link regarding the Harry Potter exhibit in the British Library.
It's a video link. https://www.timeout.com/london/museums/harry-potter-a-history-of-magic

I'm not a Potter Head but many who post on the London forum appear to be so posting merely to show what interesting activities you can discover by researching Timeout.

When I travel besides seeing iconic sites I want to discover intriguing people, places and things. Research is important in shaping my itineraries.

A digital magazine Timeout can also be researched for other cities. Over the years with travels to Paris, Dublin, Istanbul, Rome, Belfast, Amsterdam, Munich, and Havana I've found Timeout to be an invaluable research tool. Providing me with knowledge of lesser known museums, odd art galleries, local events, restaurants, film festivals, etc.

My hope is that first timers and seasoned travelers alike will take a moment to investigate Timeout.

No, don't work for them, merely sharing because that what the Forum is for, sharing.

Enjoy.

Thank you for the tip, I added the website to my favorites. Besides inyourpocket guides which have been mentioned her, especially by Agnus, another website is use-it.travel. It is an online, printable guide to the odd city. It is written by young people in each city and gives you off-the-beaten track info. They are fun to read. I especially like the column labeled, Act Like a Local.

Thanks Claudia. I'm sorry we'll miss this exhibit! You posted about Timeout a few months ago and I signed up for their emails, but it seems most of the info is for the short term. I'll have to read it carefully for the few months before our trip next June:)

Claudia, Thanks to your post, we tried to go today as we are in London. The staff said the Harry Potter Magic exhibit has been sold out well in advance. They had ONE ticket when we walked in. Said to check back in an hour. We did. Said to check back in 10 minutes because the exhibit was extremely crowded. So we passed. Maybe because it is half-term break there are more kids out everywhere we go and that has an impact.

So a word to those who wish to go: buy tickets online first!

Sorry if trying to get in was an inconvenience. Agree buy tickets in advance if possible.

This link I provided was from the weekly Timeout newsletter I receive via email.

Should have clarified that I research the https://www.timeout.com/london MONTHS in advance before I travel.

Was how I discovered the Classical Spectacular taking place at the Royal Albert Hall on November 19th. Because of looking online in advance was lucky enough to get a ticket and will be in attendance.

I have relied on Time Out information since before there was an Internet. Still do. But I have been disappointed that the magazine has been slow to include links to other information sources with its listings. That is a small complaint.
