Time to Talk about Tuesday

Now that we have Sunday evening, Monday, and Thursday questions taken care of....on to Tuesday!

Reminder: Week 2 of our trip is London. Family of 4 adults, only 1 of whom has been to UK. Hotel is in Notting Hill/Bayswater area.
Recap: Sunday-Westminster Walk after dinner. Monday-V&A in the morning, tea at Kensington Palace @2:00. Rest of the day unplanned as yet. Wednesday-HP Studio Tour 11:00. Thursday-Tower of London & vicinity, theatre in the evening.

We would like to do Churchill War Rooms in the morning, followed by Westminster Abbey. Given the preferences of our group, I doubt we will be in CWR more than 2 hours. So, would you do one right after the other? Lunch in between? What else would you suggest to round out our day?

The Churchill War Rooms are fascinating and can easily take 3 to 4 hours to see!

Both places are fascinating, and so close together that they'll be easy to visit in one day if your feet hold out. You will want a break and lunchtime would be good for that. I know the Churchill site requires timed entry, not sure about the Abbey. Make the timed entry the first place you go so you're not squeezed for time there. If both are timed, make those times far apart if you can.

Not sure what else you're looking for, but here are our host's suggestions for London. After Churchill and the Abbey, I'd want to round out my day with something that involved sitting, maybe a Thames cruise.

Separate them with lunch. Both are incredible places to visit.

Lunch in between. Two Chairman Pub.

To walk off your lunch meander through St James park toward the Palace. From the Palace walk through Green Park to Piccadilly and then window shop as you walk towards Trafalgar Square.

OR follow the Thames River Path till you see something of interest. In other words explore without purpose….be surprised.

Its an easy stroll. When you exit the Two Chairman pub look right. You’ll see the Cockpit Steps. Take those into St James Park following Bird Cage Walk up to the Palace. If the Royal Standard is up that means the King is in residence.
