My wife and I are headed for Venice soon and I booked a flight to Gatwick and then on to Venice due to the restrictions of reward flights on British Airways. So, is 90 minutes between arrival and departure enough time considering border crossing, security check and baggage transfer?
If it is a single ticket and all on BA you can follow International Connections and you need to arrive 20 minutes before take off time at the gate after security. No need for immigration.
If you are into changing airlines and especially if you need to pick up and recheck bags landside you have too little time.
Thank You. Both flights are with British Airways but I booked them separately due to reward flight issues: using avios. Maybe I can work it out with them to get our baggage checked all the way to Venice and apparently we can avoid the passport check and security from what I am reading at the Gatwick link you provided. Thanks again.
BA absolutely will not through-check bags on two tickets on their current policy. So your options are hand baggage only or change your flight as the time you have left is unlikely be guaranteed to be sufficient to go from the arrival pier, go through immigration / customs, walk the length of the South Terminal over to departures, go through security, and walk to your departure pier in under 70 minutes.
