I am traveling to Europe with my 2 daughters & 3 grandchildren, and will be spending just 1 full day (2 nights) in London. My question has to do with ticket options on the London Eye. I saw that there is a Family Standard ticket for 60 British Pounds which consists of 2 adults & 2 children. This seems to be a very good deal. However, my 2 daughters have 3 children, so this would leave 1 child out. Is there a way to purchase this extra child's ticket along with the Family Standard ticket? I will not be going on this ride myself, so I'm not sure they will allow me to purchase 1 child's ticket without an adult ticket also having to be purchased - even though this child will, of course, be going on the ride with her family. I have emailed the London Eye company but there has been no reply. If anyone knows the answer to this issue, I would be very grateful. Thank you
To be honest it's risky to book the London Eye in advance as you might find the weather on the day you have means there is little visibility. The queues are not significant enough anyway to mean you need to buy in advance.
I am sorry I don’t know the answer to your question. But I wanted to ask where you found the option to buy the family ticket for 60 GBP? I see references to it on various sites but do not see that option when purchasing on the London Eye site.
I don't see any option for the family ticket either.
I went on the London Eye for the first time last spring. It was Okay. Only Okay. I would not think about purchasing tickets in advance due to weather considerations, and I probably wouldn't spend time on your only day in London on this attraction. I realize that is just my personal opinion.
Unless you know London very well, the views are not that meaningful. I knew what I was looking at, but my friends that were accompanying me did not. Since you only have one day, I would focus on something else and above all, avoid the hop on hop off bus.
Purchasing tickets same day with no discounts would cost your party 198 pounds......
