Ticket Time for Ceremony of the Keys

For those of us wanting tickets in April to the Ceremony of the Keys, don't forget they will be available tomorrow (first business day of the month) around midday London time (really early tomorrow morning for those in the US) ... good luck, hope y'all get the day you want.

I just printed out my tickets for April 24. What an ordeal. I started on my desktop at 6 am this morning (NY time). Nothing, no queu page. I reclicked the link every 5 minutes. Nothing. By 6:30 I got my iPad and iPad mini and went on the website. Immediately I was on the queu page. On the iPad mini I checked the email me option. When the email came through I clicked on the link on my desktop - it’s connected to my printer. April’s calendar was blank with slashes through each date. I clicked the back button to March and viola! April’s calendar came up again with the colored boxes stating availability. Same thing on my iPad. I had almost given up. Was it sheer luck or my clicking buttons - I don’t know but I was successful. Another task checked off before our trip.
Good luck to anyone else trying today.

Success! ... started at 5:45 CST and was #246 in the queue ... 25 min later I'm in, calendar was already full for a few days but my April 13th day was available ... easy process, got the email, downloaded tickets to laptop and a stick (just in case), will print later ... hope everyone is/was as lucky in getting their date.

DQ, thanks for taking the time to share your experience/ tips on this. I’m trying to secure tickets for our trip in late June, so I’m was going to plan to attempt the process May 1. It’s so weird the way these sites work; I had the same issue with the day earlier situation for train alerts. I guess since the east coast is behind time wise that the site’s set up defers to the day before regardless of how many hours? With your help, I’ll know to go back to April to try to see the calendar for June. Thanks again!

I planned to try and get tickets this morning but unfortunately work intervened and I wasn't able to try until around 8:30. Even though a couple of the days said there were tickets available, clicking on those dates said they were sold out. Ah well. I have been before (back in the days when you had to mail in a request for tickets) and it was really interesting, but I think we'll be ok not seeing it. Maybe our next trip!

Took a quick peek just for grins, only April dates remaining are April 19, 20, 26 and 30 ... and the 20th has only 2 available, the others have 1 ... so for those looking at next month or beyond, set those alarm clocks for an early wake-up and get them as soon as they are available or you'll be SOL.

All this sounds a lot easier then when you had to write to the UK and enclose postal coupons that no American post office had ever heard of. I remember driving to 4 post offices before someone's boss had heard something about it and looked it up in a book. Gah! It was maddening.

But the ceremony was very cool and I guess now they will be King Charles' keys.

Forgot to mention earlier ... anyone else notice their ticket time after you purchase your tickets ... the ticket time in the order summary shows 9:30AM (the pdf download has the correct time 9:30PM) ... wonder if they have ever been notified of this?

Congratulations Barbara and DQ on getting tickets. I tried too; I spent a lot of time on it but no luck. So disappointed. So I booked the Ghost, Ghouls and Gallows Tour because it ends with a cruise of the Thames and ends at Tower Hill. I think the lit up buildings will be beautiful. I did get the ticket time I wanted for St. Paul's Cathedral and the Churchill War Rooms.

Getting ready to set my alarm early on May 1. I am fortunate that I am in London for most of June and the first week of July so have flexiablity with my dates but already have a list of days that would work best for me. Good luck to everyone who is trying to get tickets.

Got an email from the Ceremony of the Keys Customer Service Team this morning acknowledging the 9:30am error (which they mentioned is now fixed) and apologizing for any misunderstandings ... I wish others would do this when there are errors/issues that need to be fixed and communicate with you ... some places don't reply when you send them an email to correct an issue with tickets and you have to keep hounding them (I'm looking at you Keukenhof info@ticketcounter.nl) ... I was impressed.

I’m going to try tomorrow morning for July dates. I just wanted to confirm….you go through the normal website for Tower of London tickets and the 9:30 pm slot will be an option, correct? I tried on May 1 for the month of June as our time in London will be in both June and July and after queuing for 30 minutes, I only saw regular time slots available available for every date in June. I wanted to make sure there wasn’t another website just for the Ceremony of Keys tickets.

I was able to get tickets this morning. I started trying around 4 am EST in case they were released early. Tickets were made available at 7 am (12:00 noon London time). The queue was about 10 minutes and only the first 10 days were available to book - since that included my date I purchased the tickets. The process was slow due to heavy traffic. I checked back 30 minutes later and more days were available.

Just to update: We got tickets this morning! I went to the website listed above in a previous post right at 6 am CST (noon in London) and there was no new link. I refreshed for 2 minutes and nothing changed on the site. I then got panicky and thought I needed to go through the normal ticket queue, even though I knew better. When I got through that line, obviously no ceremony of keys tickets were available so I went back to the link above and there was a new link for the ceremony of the keys tickets! It’s a yellow link and appears sometime after noon London time on the first of the month. If you’re waiting, keep refreshing until it appears. We were lucky and it all worked out but I wasted 15 minutes because I got anxious.

Also to add that 1 July will be a Saturday so tickets will not be released until Monday 3 July.
There are two threads running for this topic.
I posted the correct tickets link in the other thread, which is always there.
