Third visit to London, but the first time for my Sister. Help with hotels and theatre tickets.

My husband, my sister and I will be flying into London on May 12, 2025. This will be a last leg of a three week trip to Europe. Because it is her first time here we would like to hit a lot of the tourist hotspots. Westminster Abbey, London Eye, Big Ben, Tower of London, Abbey Road, Harrods, Buckingham Palace. We will stay 4 nights in London and then head to the Cotswolds for another 4 nights. What I would love to know from you all are suggestions for a place to stay in London. We will get two separate rooms and would like to keep them between 200 and 250 GBP per room per night if possible. The most important wish list items are clean, nice beds, located near a good underground stop and hopefully walking distance to some of the places we want to see. We are not spring chickens so realistically we can probably only walk 2 to 3 miles a day. We would also like to see a play while there which is something we have never done so if you have suggestions about the best way to get tickets and which theatres are the best that would also be appreciated. Thank you so much in advance.

Research the Premiere Inn website.

Then use Google Maps which will show you where Underground Stations are located.

Many, many Forum readers seem to stay at the County Hall PI. For first time visitors it can be exciting as the view across the Thames and from front entrance is Parliament.

There’s also a PI (London Bank Tower ) close to the Tower of London.

Lastly the Premiere Inn Victoria Hotel is 3 or 4 blocks from Buckingham Palace.

PI’s have comfortable beds and are priced well.

As far as theatre research and review what will be on stage during your travel dates. https://www.whatsonstage.com/

If you end up staying at the County Hall Premier Inn, be sure to check what show is at the County Hall. Witness for the Prosecution was showing. Had we realized there was a theatre in the same building as our accommodation, we would've gotten tickets for convenience, but once we realized, we already had other plans in place.

I know this isn't what you are asking, but Buckingham Palace isn't open for tours in May. So you'll just be looking from the outside. But Windsor Castle is also nice to visit; and open Thursday - Monday.

Adding to CanAmSherie’s mention of Agatha Christie’s Witness for the Prosecution.

I saw it at County Hall. It was very well done. It’s staged in an actual court room.

Had an excellent seat which I bought at the box office. £82 so about $100. Row C Seat X55

Highly recommend seeing it.

Thank you all for the suggestions! I will check out the Premier website. I have visited Windsor Castle in the past and loved it, we may go back again this trip if we can fit it in.
