I apologize for not finding this answer somehow on the forum. Surely it has been questioned before. What top things should I plan that Rick’s tour won’t cover? October 2023
It's hard to answer since we don't know what the tour covers. If you could list what it covers perhaps you might get some ideas.
For those who haven't been on this tour, here's what is covered:
"Here's what you'll see and do on our Best of London tour:London neighborhood walk and Tube orientation Visitor Oyster Card for Underground (Tube) and bus transportation London panoramic bus tour Westminster Abbey Whitehall walking tour Churchill War Rooms Opening ceremony at the Tower of London Tower of London "Beefeater" tour "City" walking tour Afternoon tea British Museum Windsor day trip Windsor Castle East End food tour St. Paul's Cathedral Globe Theatre South Bank walk Borough Market"
(And sorry...just did a copy/paste from the tour page so formatted weird)
You're getting a lot of the big ones of course.
If you have an interest here's what I'd add but they may not be for you:
- Queens Gallery (if you are interested in the current exhibition when you visit)
- National Gallery
- V&A
- Wallace Collection
- Tate Britain
- Tate Modern
- Kew Gardens (if you like gardens)
- Cortauld Gallery
- British Library
- Royal Mews if you are interested in horses and carriages
- Chelsea Physic Garden
- Sir John Soane's Museum
- Imperial War Museum in Lambeth (Churchill War Rooms is an arm of this institution but there is a big war museum across the river)
- A play?
What sounds like fun? Are you adding extra time? I'd hope so! Go in at least 2 nights early so you can make some headway recovering from Jet lag....
