Plug your travel dates into the awesome Official London Theater site (http://tinyurl.com/57deyu) and you will get a complete listing of what's on during your stay. There will be a link to purchase advance tickets.

Another option is to purchase discount ticket after you arrive at the TKTS booth on Leicester Square. There is no guarantee that the shows you really want to attend will be available on the day, but there is typical a lot to choose from if your not finicky. More details here:

This is my first posting. Yep, I am a virgin poster. We are leaving for London this week and bought tickets through this app. It is called Today Tix. The discounted tickets run about one week ahead and it also gives info about the play. This app works for various cities. We used it in NYC, saw several shows and it worked like a dream. Good luck.

Before leaving home, we used the London theater site -- http://www.officiallondontheatre.co.uk/ -- to pick about five shows that we might want to see. Once in London, we found the TKTS booth in Leicester Square. One or two of the shows we were interested in were unavailable or non-discounted, but we easily settled on "Billy Elliott" at the Victoria Palace Theater that evening. Can't remember what we paid for the tickets, but it was a decent savings and a great show. There were plenty of shows to pick from if you don't have your heart set on one of the "hottest" current productions.

In The Heights!!!!! Don't miss it! How lucky we are to be in London right now for this revival. Lin Manuel Miranda is the composer and lyricist and it's a fabulous show. His new one on Broadway back in the US is called Hamilton and is smashing, absolutely crackers brilliant. (Oh, the Brits are so good at superlatives). Don't miss your chance to see one of the two works of this amiable genius (fun to follow on social media) who just won a MacArthur award. In The Heights won four Tony's. It's my favorite soundtrack, next to Hamilton. I am so thrilled to be seeing it this weekend!
