The trains again--please help!

I got an email today from Southern Railway. I followed the link and found this page: Timetable

I'm having some trouble understanding these changes.

If I'm reading this correctly, there won't be a train on Friday, June 2, to Lewes from Victoria. I have already bought a ticket for that train and I don't know how else I would get to Lewes, or from Lewes back to Victoria on June 7. First, am I reading this right? Second, is Southern Railway going to give me my money back? Third, I wanted to go from Lewes to Seaford for a day trip. Is this still possible?

I'm kind of panicking right now, so please, someone please advise. Thank you!

I’m not sure what it is you have seen but as far as I can see there is a train scheduled every 30 minutes from Victoria to Lewes on 2/6 taking just over an hour with Advance tickets available on most trains for £6.

Thanks for replying. :)

On the timetable page, I scrolled down to where it has information for what will take place after May 21. It says "Lewes to Brighton" and no service. Do they mean I can't take a train from Lewes to Brighton? If so, I definitely did misunderstand.

That could have been massively better worded by Southern. I have just looked this all up on the journey planners as I thought "***???" [read whatever expletive you want into that], as everyone would have heard of a line closure like that.

No panic.

Your Victoria to Lewes train does not run via Brighton- that is on the Victoria to Eastbourne main line, so that is unaffected.

And yes Lewes to Seaford is still possible- it is now on the new extra 'East Coastway' trains to Hastings/Ore.

When they say Brighton to Lewes no longer runs that was a shuttle train. But when they then say "an additional hourly train will run from Brighton to Hastings extending to Ore" that is actually an extension of the withdrawn shuttle a lot further east to Hastings over the same tracks. So it is actually an enhancement of the service.
That information is bordering on the idiotic, not at all surprised it caused confusion.
When they post the new 'paper' timetables to that web page you will hopefully be fully able to grasp that, but please, that does not affect your vacation in any way.

Thank you so much! I thought it was just me, as the cliche goes. I can reset that panic button. :)
