The Pump Room, Bath

I would like to go here, but was wondering if tea or lunch would be best. Any opinions would be appreciated.

I haven’t eaten there but to be honest, I guess it depends what time of day you’re there and what sort of food you prefer eating. Have a look at the menus that are posted on their website and decide which you like the look of.

I note they serve tea from lunchtime onwards, and the afternoon tea - here it is - menu looks traditional and relatively good value for £27 a head. Many tourists seem to have Afternoon Tea on their must-do list so maybe give that a go?

Thanks Person..... I saw the menu and agree it looks good, and tea seems to be the draw fro most people, but I wondered if the other food was good also, as we often prefer it to traditional tea. We would be going more to experience the venue than the food.

I’ve not eaten there but I’ve wandered thru. It’s a gorgeous room and if you are a Regency or JA fan you’ll love it. The food has always looked delicious! I’d go with whatever time works best for your schedule.

It was one of the best afternoon teas I've been to and the atmosphere is wonderful.

We had tea there and enjoyed it very much. I'm sure lunch would have been fine also. The food in one meal should be just as good (or not) as the food in another. Base it on your schedule and/or prices.

My daughter and I had brunch there, because it was the only meal we could get into during the time that we were in Bath. Delicious food and wonderful atmosphere. There was someone playing piano in the background most of the time we were eating; we were a little surprised to recognize a number of Disney tunes. Not really the repertoire we expected at the Pump room. But still a very pleasant experience.
