Interesting for all who love walking the Lake District. I have lived here for 49 years and never heard of this. I was brought up on knowledge of the Kinder Scout and Winter Hill trespasses (being Mancunian/Cheshire by birth), but not this one.
Kinder Scout (in the Peak District), especially, was the year my father was born, and was deep in the culture of local ramblers for decades afterwards.
