We're starting to plan a trip to London for the spring and, in looking for hotels, I came acriss the The Chesterfield Mayfair, located at 35 Charles St, London, close to Piccadilly and Berkeley Square. The hotel looks lovely but the price is - literally - halkf that of nearby hotels, so I'm both fascinated and hesitant. Has anyone stayed there?? Thank you so much!!
We didn’t stay there but did their children’s tea a couple of weeks ago. From what we saw, the hotel and staff were traditional and lovely with a wonderful location in Mayfair.
Thank you!! So glad you enjoyed the tea.
Hi!
We stayed there last week. It was a great experience. The staff was terrific and we enjoyed the location as we prefer a quieter neighborhood. The breakfast was included in our rate and we enjoyed it. The service at breakfast was mixed (two days were great, two were so-so), but I would not let that prevent you from staying. Our room was small, but that is not unusual for London (in my experience). We would certainly stay again. We also enjoyed the piano player in the bar at night.
If you do decide to stay there, check out the Shepherd Market area next to the hotel. Quite a few cute restaurants and a couple of pubs. Wr had dinner at Misto on night it was excellent (super small so need reservations).
Enjoy!
Edited to add: it was about a 10 min walk to the Green Park tube stop and a 15 min walk to Buckingham Palace. We walked most places and took the tube minimally, but you will either need to walk a touch further or change trains if you want the District or Circle lines.
This is exactly what I needed to know!! A million thanks!!
We will be at The Chesterfield later this month so will try to remember to post a follow up. Last year we stayed at the Clermont in Charing Cross which was good but wanted to try a new area this time.
A million thanks!!
