Was looking for a place to eat dinner near the Notting Hill Gate station after a day visiting Kensington Palace, Royal Albert Hall, V&A and strolling through Hyde Park ... saw this place The Champion (looks like it is right next to the Russian Embassy, so that started my interest) ... I noticed they have a sign inside a room that says Freddie Mercury wrote 'We Are the Champions' right there in that room and that he was a regular who lived in the area ... well, this place automatically just became a must-see ... I am a 'Trust but Verify' person, so while I have no reason to doubt them, does anyone know if this is true or a 'stretch' of someone's truth?

According to this link, this [building, I guess] was formerly one of London’s iconic gay pubs, and that Queen and The Clash were once regulars at this fine drinking hole! So it's possible.
