I am planning a May 2025 trip to London from US.
I have a United flight, so I will be arriving in Terminal 2. Once I have exited the restricted area after Customs, please what is the walking route and length of time to reach the Heathrow Central Station to catch the next Heathrow Express train? Based on my searches, it appears Central Station is between Terminal 2 & 3 or only accessible directly from Terminal 3. I also get walking time anywhere from 5-20 minutes.
Thanks for your help. Fran
We have flown United into Heathrow a few times in the past couple of years. The walk is long - I would say 10-15 minutes depending on how fast you walk. You will exit the terminal building and then take the elevator down to the walkway to get to the train. The wait at the elevator can easily be 5+ minutes depending on how many people are waiting.
The wait for the elevators can be long.
I, however, take the escalators where there is no wait. From the bottom of the escalators to the entrance to the Heathrow Express/Elizabeth line is no more than 10 minutes. There are moving walkways part of the way. I walk fast and do it on about five minutes.
Just follow the signs.
To clarify, Heathrow Central Station serves Terminals 2 and 3 (and 1 when it's open, which it currently is not). Exiting either T2 or T3 will bring you there directly. Terminals 4 and 5 each have their own separate station.
Thanks everyone for the information, it helps.

It is very easy to get to the Heathrow Express Train. After we exited passport control we walked to the right. There is a Trains ramp down and then follow the signs for Heathrow Express. The Heathrow Express leaves every 15 minutes from the airport to Paddington Station. Press your ticket barcode on the screen and board quickly. They do not stay long. We purchased our Heathrow Express tickets at the Advance Purchase rate for a low rate way in advance. You are able to take any train on the date of your ticket, so you do not have to worry about your arrival time.
The "ramp" down is Terminal 3.
