I am traveling with my grandsons to London and can't get into our lodgings (apt) until 3P. We get in at 9:30A and need somewhere to stow baggage until then. Is there a place at Paddington Station to do that? If not, any recommendations? Thanks!
Paddington Station has a secure and convenient left luggage place at the station itself, but it’s quite expensive - £10 an item.
Take a look at Stasher.com, who have a range of places nearby, generally shops and hotels.
Hi, Lynn, there is a Left Luggage facility at Paddington Station. It's called the Excess Baggage Company and is located on Platform (Track) 12 at Paddington Station. They are open daily from 7:00 - 23:00. Here is their contact info if you need it: [email protected] and phone is +44 (0)20 3468 4709
More info at https://www.left-baggage.co.uk/en/locations. This will get you to the main page - to see the Paddington info, click on "Stations" in the top right (right next to the word, Airport) then scroll down to London Paddington.
There a number of private firms offering short-term luggage storage near Paddington and throughout London - Stasher and Bounce are just two of them. You may be able to find a location close to your lodging. Do a web search on "left luggage near paddington station".
Is saving maybe £5 really that important versus the time in going off site at the start and end of the day to find an internet left luggage site versus the convenience of getting off the HEx or the Elizabeth Line, straight to left baggage in the station, explore London, back to the station, pick up your bags.
That time has a cost value.
Some have different priorities to others, as to how to spend their money. Also the latest idea to hit this forum is the question of how secure is your luggage at one of these internet companies like Stasher, compared to the station left luggage?
The other thing to consider is that these off site baggage storage places are businesses doing this on the side. I have seen bags stored just right by the door, etc.. I don’t use them because I just don’t feel secure with my luggage there. Now I travel with my office laptop, so that’s probably a consideration which other people might not have.
