Tea on arrival day- timing from Heathrow?

We arrive 7:45 am on Thurs 9/21- staying 10 min walk from Earl's Court Station so will take tube from Heathrow.

We thought tea at Orangery would be a nice way to start our trip- we will be hungry and want to get out and walk right away. I have no expectations of sleeping on the flight- never have been able to for previous 8 flights to Europe! After tea we'll walk some more than probably take an hour long nap before heading out to do RS West End Walk that pm

So if I book Tea at 12:30- can we make it without too much hassle/rush? Orangery is a 20 min walk from hotel. I figure we should be dropping bags at hotel by 11?

Thanks for your help

It's hard to estimate the time you'll be at your hotel. I would think you'd have PLENTY of time as you can take the Tube (Piccadilly line) to Earl's Court. It's about a 35 minute ride. So even if it took you 30 minutes to walk to the immigration lines from your flight and you wait on line for 2 hours, you'll still arrive at your hotel around 11am. Arriving at 7:45am, I've never had to wait that long. Most often, it's under 30 minutes.

12:30 should be fine. If you have any concern, make the reservation for 1pm.

Continential is correct about the tube and time it takes to get to Earls court. Not knowing exactly where your hotel is from Earls court station (there are many in that area), I would add about 10 minutes to your walking time to get to the Orangery. We always stay by the Gloucester station (10 minute walk from Earl's court station) and Cromwell road, and the Orangery is about 20 minutes from there.

Thanks- we are north of Cromwell Road about halfway between Earl's Court and High Street Kensingon Stations.

you should be fine with that time.

But do be advised that 12.30 tea will be tourist tea - most Brits will have their lunch at about 1. If they were to take tea it would likely be between 3 and 4.

nothing wrong with 12.30 just saying you wouldn't see many locals ... fwiw

Speak for yourself Nigel, I'm lunching as soon as the clock strikes noon (except on Sunday's, then it's 2pm). Never taken 'tea'. ; )
