Taxi Service from Cambridge to Gatwick Airport

Hello! I visiting family in Cambridge in October and stupidly booked a flight out of Gatwick that leaves at 10:45 a.m. Never been to England, and I'm not yet a frequent traveler so rookie mistake.

Can anyone recommend a taxi service to get me from Cambridge to Gatwick that won't break the bank? I did see this and wondered what people thought of this company: https://www.airporttaxis-uk.co.uk/Gatwick#booking

That’s a distance of nearly 100 miles. Not going to be cheap anyway you look at it.

You might rethink your itinerary and leave Cambridge a day before your flight. There are a number of hotels you could choose for an overnight stay. Radisson, Premier Inn, Sofitel, Hampton by Hilton.

No stress to catch your morning departure.

I agree with Claudia. Since you will need to be at Gatwick at 0745 h, you should really consider travelling to a hotel close to Gatwick the evening before your flight. It's at least an hour and a half by car ( not counting morning rush hour)

Yes, I agree with you both. I took that flight because it was so cheap. No worries, I'll take the train down the day before and spend the night near the airport. Thanks for your replies!

Good move in staying near the airport the night before your morning flight. Good night sleep, less stress.

I have stayed at both the Sofitel and Premier Inn (North Terminal) and they are fine. It just depends on how much you want to spend and how fancy you want it. Both are next to the North Terminal.

If your flight is from the South Terminal, there is a tram that goes between the two. The tram is even closer to the hotels than the North Terminal entrance but not by much.
