I was hoping to be able to take a taxi or hired car to drive my wife and from central London to Brighton and also from Brighton to Heathrow later on to go home.
Does anyone know if this is possible. Know the cost may be high but we really would pay for the convenience. Thanks!
The road journey from London to Brighton is like a slow death. Take the train.
wow, that's impressive. Do you know if it's different Brighton to Heathrow or more of the same. thanks
It’ll take a long while for a taxi to get through the traffic from central London to the main road south to Brighton. I’d get a taxi from where you are staying to a station where you can get a train direct to Brighton (eg Victoria or Farringdon or London Bridge) and then a taxi from Brighton station.
The way back is different since the car won’t have to go through London. Google something like “Brighton airport taxis’ and ask for a few quotes
but it is true that the train from Brighton to Heathrow is way easier than it used to be.
Thameslink train from Brighton to Farringdon, easy step free change in Farringdon onto the Elizabeth Line to any terminal at Heathrow.
Other trains go from Brighton to London but they go into Victoria Station (Southern or Gatwick Express) which is less convenient although a little faster. I'd suggest that just one easy change beats a bit faster.
This is very helpful. Thanks
