T2 (United) Heathrow Hotel Recommendation

Hello.

For the night before my 10 am flight, an airport hotel would be good. Only need a nice, clean place with a decent breakfast for convenience. Under $130 would be best.

What London Heathrow hotel would you recommend that's near T2 (United)?

Thanks.

Under $130 would be best.

Just doing a quick look at LHR hotels, you look to be about $100 short, especially if you want breakfast included.

Is the location or the price the more important consideration?

For that price range, my experience (departing T2 at 9 am) was staying at the Renaissance Heathrow Hotel on Bath Road, which requires the airport shuttle service or Bus to access it to/from the Heathrow Bus Terminal. On the morning of my flight, I had breakfast after security.

There is a few hotels near T4 which would mean walking from hotel to T4 then taking train to T2 that may be another option.

The Hilton Garden Inn at T2 & T3 Heathrow is lilterally connected to T2. It's less than a five minute walk to the Departure area. The buffet breakfast is very nice. I believe it starts at 6 AM.

It's actually located in the T2 car park (parking garage) and the signage isn't great. It's on the arrival level of T2.

I've stayed many times and I will be back in two weeks.

However, It will cost more than $130 which is about 97 GBP.

There is also a Hilton Garden Inn near the Hatton Cross tube station. It's one station before Heathrow. Their rates are usually lower.

Don't get the two hotels confused.

Two things to take into consideration for the latter: If this is a weekend, make sure there are no planned engineering works that would shut the Piccadilly line near Heathrow. If you do decide to stay there and take the tube in, get one for T5 and not T4. Why? The one for T5 goes from Hatton Cross to Heathrow T2 & 3. The one for T4 first stops at T4 and sits there for nine minutes so the driver can get a break. It then goes on to T2 & 3.

For a 10am flight, you don't necessarily need to stay at LHR. Heathrow Express is
10GBP if you buy 30+ days out and takes 15-20 minutes, constraint being it only
departs from Paddington.

Elizabeth Line is ~12GBP and can take you to LHR in about 30-40 minutes even
if you're staying in Greenwich.

If ~100 GBP is your budget, the hotels along Bath Road are the likely options
given that there are a lot of them. You have to pay for the bus these days to
get back to the airport, just remember they drive on the other side of the road
so the stop you think is going to the airport is actually going away from it.

The Elizabeth Line from Paddington to Heathrow is 30 minutes. The only way you can get from Greenwich to Paddington in 10 minutes....is with a Star Trek Transporter.

Your hints and tips are greatly appreciated. I never would have thought of them!!

I should have stated I’m likely arriving from Oxford. And yes, with the current exchange rate, I’ll have to up the budget.

Thanks!

If the hotels right in the airport are too expensive, we really enjoyed the Ibis Styles Heathrow, located on Bath Road literally just outside the airport entrance. About 5 minutes by either cab or bus. There is a nice pub kitty-corner called the Three Magpies, and a bus stop right across the street if you want to take the bus into the airport. Its literally only one stop and very convenient.
