Sunday in the Cotswolds

Hello,
On June 7th, a Sunday, my family will be driving up the A429 north to Warwick. We will have time to stop at one or maybe two of the Cotswold villages along the way. We would like to eat lunch, check out the scenery and visit any shops that might be open. Any suggestions as to which Cotswold villages would be best for a Sunday visit?
Thanks,
George

Most Cotswold villages have few shops, and these will be closed on Sundays. But pubs will be open over lunch serving food. The one exception is Bourton-on-the-Water which is a major tourist magnet and has many shops eateries which will be open on Sundays.
Other villages / small towns along the A429 are Northleach, Stowe-on-the-Wold and Moreton-in-Marsh; in all of these you should find one or more pubs serving lunch.

Shops in Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water, Halford, Moreton in Marsh, Burford (nearby the Fosseway), and other places along the Fosseway will have some, most, or many shops open on Sunday, for at least the middle of the day.

Not a direct answer, but when we visited Warwick castle, we stepped through the wall from the parking lot into the town and loved the town. We walked for a good hour, popping in/out of shops, had afternoon tea, bought a few bags of sweets. There was a part of Warwick we wished we could have visited, but ran out of time, and is visible from the northeastern tower/ part of the castle along the Avon river... Mill street... great photo oportunity at the end of the street with the castle looming behind!
