Suggestions please for staying overnight at Heathrow for long layover

Hi, I will have a return flight from Ljubljana to Toronto from a Rick Steves Central Europe tour and will transfer from London Heathrow airport. The layover time is about 18 hours from 10:45pm to 5:05pm the next day. I am looking for a place to spend the night and will go to London for a day trip the next morning. Any suggestions for a stay with a reasonable price and easy to get to the city? Many thanks in advance :)!

there are places at or near each terminal but 4 and 5 are remote from 2/3 and each other.

Knowing your arrival and departure terminal will allow accurate answers

Try to find something near your terminal, but if you cannot: I've used the Premier Inn T4 several times. It's down a (long) enclosed walkway from the terminal, so you don't have to use any sort of transportation once you get to T4. That Premier Inn often has really, really good rates. It's usually cheapest if you book the room way ahead of time. PI offers several different types of reservations. Be sure you book the flexible one unless you like taking risks.

There is an Aerotel in Terminal 3 just as you exit customs

There is a Hilton Garden Inn just outside Terminal 2.

Terminal 3 and Terminal 2 are connected by an underground walkway. It's a 5-7 minute walk from Terminal 3 to Terminal 2.

I have never stayed at the Aerotel but have stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn numerous times.

There are a few hotels near Terminal 4 which will require a train ride to them and then as much as a 10 walk, and one in Terminal 5. Also a train ride.

There are numerous hotels around the airport itself many of which can be reached by the Hotel Hoppa bus.

I prefer the hotels at T4 because I am an IHG sort of person, but that T2 Hilton Garden Inn is significantly more convenient for you if you want your hotel at your arrival and departure terminal. If you don't mind a 10 minute train ride between terminals and a 5 or 10 minute walk down a covered walkway to the hotel, the Hilton, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn Express and Premier Inn are all linked on that T4 covered walkway. And T4 is the end of the line (T2/3 one shorter) of the Elizabeth Line.
