We return to St Pancras at 10:40am on a Thursday and depart Gatwick on Friday morning at 9:40. We plan to stay TH night closer to Gatwick to simplify transport to the airport Friday morning. I was hoping to arrange a castle visit for Thursday afternoon, but transportation is challenging. Any suggestions on how to fit in Hampton Court or Windsor (or even Hevers Castle or other) to still allow for transportation to Gatwick for a 9:40am departure on Friday? Thank you.

Take a train to London (30 mins), take a train to Hampton Court ( 60 plus mins). You may have to reserve a ticket for one of the tours at Hampton Court (probably available on line). It is also possible to take one of boat companies on the Thames to Hampton...I recommend the return trip to London because it takes longer on the boat.
