Suggestions for something near King's Cross

We leave London tomorrow via Eurostar from King's Cross. We will have about 3.5 hours from the time we leave our flat until we check-in for the train journey. We would like to use the left baggage office to stow our stuff then do something nearby. Any suggestions? We have 4 children with us, btw. :-) Ages 16, 13, 9, and 5.

If you find your time is limited but you have an hour, I'd walk around St Pancras station with its interesting sculptures and architecture. At King's Cross Station, don't forget Platform 9 3/4. If you find you have more time, walk a block to the British Museum - the little one might want to play in the courtyard, but take the older ones to the Treasure Gallery, up the stairs on the left. Original manuscripts and letters - I saw what some of the original Beatles' songs were written on as well as original books by Shakespeare, Austin, and some from other cultures. Just walking around and looking at original and older manuscripts was awesome.

The British Library has the Treasure Room NOT The British Museum. Hope whatever you did was enjoyed by all.

There are plenty of places to shop, eat or look at antiques if that's your thing in Islington, which is near. Several buses go there or it's one stop on the Northern Line (to Angel). Open spaces and parks at Russell Square or Lincoln's Inn Fields, museums such as the BM, British Library and Foundlings Museum are all close by
