We'll take a day trip from London to Cambridge the last week of September 2024.
I found a few websites with self-guided walks of the town, and I've gathered visitor info for some colleges. That may suffice.
Or would it be wiser to take a guided tour? And if so, any recommendations for the tour company?

I am heading to London later this month and have never been to Cambridge either. I signed up for a day tour with London Walks. We meet the guide at Kings Cross Railway Station in London and have a full day tour in Cambridge. Check out their website for details.

I just checked and they only do it every 2 weeks or so. We're in between, will miss it by two days.
