Sudeley Castle's roses in July

Hi All,

is it too late for rose viewing in July at Sudeley Castle? i read that their best is in June and they'd start to wither in July. i'd be there early July though.

Roses tend to be at their best in June.

It depends on the variety and weather.

Is there a chance that instead of worrying about every tiny thing in your trip you could go with the flow? There will be roses somewhere along your trip. There will be scenic bridges. Relax and enjoy yourself. It will be nice.

Stop worrying.

Hi Nigel,

Thanks for the input. Actually I'd go to Sudeley mainly because of the roses. Their roses is really pretty.i saw 1 pic of roses w/ bluish violet hue..gorgeous!

Does the weather act accordingly this year? Last winter was one of the longest and coldest. I think it might affect summer too.

It might be difficult to predict. I was at Hampton Court Palace in September, 2014 and the roses were still lovely. Perhaps past their peak, but they looked good to me.

Perhaps an email or phone call to the Castle would give you some information to help with your planning?

Hi Kyra,
Thanks so much for the insight. Perhaps they have different varieties of roses. I'll ask them about that :)

Hi emma,
Guess what..i did predict full bloom of cherry blossom in Japan couple of years ago despite of the unusual weather pattern that year and boyy it's gorgeous though the forecast process was a rigorous one. By the way put that aside that's not what I try to accomplish with the roses here :) I have several gardens options to visit but of course not able to do all. Only interested to visit sudeley for the roses but not really attracted with the landscape. I'd prefer snowshill or hidcote for the landscape. So if the roses are not that good, as Nigel suggests I could still enjoy the wild ones.

Sudeley Castle also has herbaceous borders - which will be at their peak in July.
