Studying in Liverpool, need cheap accommodation

I'm coming to Liverpool to do film studies in John Moores University and was looking at different accommodation options. I'll be funding myself while studying so I need somewhere that's cheap but nice, I've been looking at a few student accommodation options like student flats at Agnes Jones or rooms at Urban student life both of which are cheap and cheerful. Please advice
