Student tickets for London sites

We are headed to London and in the process of buying all our admission tickets. I have noticed that most places offer a student discount for full time students. Does any one know if this is just for European students or will they accept US students with appropriate school ID?
Thanks for your help.

I believe it's only for European students, as in, students of European universities. My son, a U.S. citizen, attended the University of Edinburgh, and to take advantage of this discount, he not only had to show his school ID, but his student visa for the UK.

Policies will vary from place to place. Bring your ID and ask....the worst that can happen is they'll say no but at least you tried.

I can't imagine anyone would accept European student ID but not US student ID. Some might limit it to British students only. But generally I bet most attractions would accept any valid student ID so it's well worth giving it a go when you get there.

That's what the International Student ID Card is intended for (though it may not be universally accepted, e.g., in Italy), generally to ID college students age 18 or over, while those under 18 might qualify based on age alone.

Most places accepted my student card (from North America). I agree with the advice to just ask at each location and bring your student card with you so they can take a look. It is tougher when pre-booking tickets. You might have to email each attraction individually.
