Strikes to hit major ports and airports over Christmas

One of the unions representing Border Force officers say their members will strike over the Christmas holidays. Border Force officers are responsible for passport control and customs.

The Home Office says it will keep essential services running but anyone traveling to the UK during that time period should not only bring their passport but their patience as well.

I have one more train trip on 20 Dec from Scotland to London and then I head back to the US on 4 Jan.

My fingers are crossed that nothing is "planned" for those days.

I wonder what places will be affected by this?
Airports, I assume.
Eurostar and trains to other countries?
Anything else?

We are Americans flying in/out of Heathrow Dec 14-Jan 9, and taking train to France 12/27 to 1/4.

The airports on your arrival into the UK may be affected. You don't deal with Border Force leaving the UK. You will see the French authorities at St. Pancras.

If you take Eurostar back to the UK, you will deal with UK Border Force in Paris. Nothing at Heathrow on departure.
