Street Markets

My last visit to London I went to Cambridge Market. Is there another market? Saturday we have tkt for Kensington palace at 1:30. I was hopping for the market with lunch then hustle to Kensington. What say you? If we would be slightly late would they deny admission to KP? Our flat is near Tower Bridge.
Thanks.

Is there another market?

Google is an amazing travel tool.

There are plenty street markets in London that are open on various weekdays.

Are you certain it was Cambridge Market and not Camden Market where you had lunch.?

What exactly are you asking? Where to eat lunch?
Is it okay to be late to enter Kensington because you stopped for lunch?

Most markets tend to have certain days they are active, but yes, there are probably a couple dozen markets or more in London throughout the week. The nearest I could find is a Saturday Farmers Market in the Kensington area, for other markets, Borough market is everyday but Monday and has a number of lunch option, a bit far on the South Bank, but somewhat quick on the underground. Same with Camden Locks, a bit far, but open daily; or Spitalfields on the East side.

Maltby Street Market in Bermondsey might be an option. It's just south of Tower Bridge. Lots of good food options there, without the crowds of Borough Market. Bermondsey's an up and coming area, which still has the flavour of old working class London. I'd also call Borough Market within easy reach of lodgings at Tower Bridge, and you have the station at London Bridge with which to make the connections you need to get over to Kensington. (Jubilee Line to Westminster, Circle Line to High St Ken)

Hi, I hope it's OK to piggyback a related question. At which markets would I be likely to find fresh English apples? Farmers rather than artisans or a lunch spot (though not mutually exclusive).

I am especially interested in heritage varieties, heirloom or antique.

Adam it isn’t proper to hitch hike on another’s post. Hasn’t ever been. Kinda disrespectful to the OP!

Post your own question. Google is your friend.

Thank you, Claudia, for the lesson, and I beg everyone's pardon!
