Following on from Storm Bert on Saturday the storm is now in Day 3 in parts of the country (including coastal Cumbria and parts of Scotland).
Great Western Trains have just re-opened the line from Paddington to Bristol and South Wales (which had been blocked by flooding), but services remain on a reduced frequency and subject to delay.
For all stations in Devon and Cornwall change at either station in Bristol for Cross Country Trains from the north and also Great Western services from Cardiff. No services are running to or from London due to flooding between Newbury and Taunton. One train tried to get through at lunchtime but had to turn back.
Some other routes in Devon are closed due to bridges suspected of being damaged.
Hopefully tomorrow (Tuesday) some services can get through, diverted via Bristol with extended journey times. If trains do get through they will be very busy.
Tonight GWR are unable to guarantee getting people to their final destinations, especially west of Plymouth and stations towards Barnstaple.
My own local line in Cumbria has been washed out for the 2nd time in a month and remains closed for at least 3 more days.
There is widespread flooding across England and Wales with rain still falling in places (especially in North East Scotland), and a lot of water still to work through rivers. Wales has also seen several landslides, including one old coal tip in danger of sliding. In Devon and Wales there has been up to 8 inches of rain.
A major incident has now been declared in parts of Northamptonshire along the River Nene, at it's highest level in places in well over 20 years. At Billings Aquadrome (a residential caravan site) boat rescues of stranded residents are ongoing.
Mercifully there are just 3 reported deaths so far.
