Hello, is there a place to store your luggage in York? My family and I will be staying there for 2 days but we arrive at 10 in the morning, and we may not be able to store our luggage at our apartment that we are staying at until about 2. Thank you.
There is a "left luggage" facility just outside the train station.
as mentioned by Lola http://leftluggageyork.co.uk/
Lola and Nigel hit the high points.
I'm just trying to remember if it is 4 or 6 pounds per bag.
Also, the ticket he gives you is a sticker (with the backing attached). Do NOT stick it to anything important, it's a very strong adhesive.
If it is the same price as in London, it is £6 per bag for three hours ( that was at Kings Cross and Paddington Stations). We declined.
You can also store luggage in the lockers at the York Railway Museum which is a short walk frommthe station platforms ( but you go up and over). A 100cm is £4 and might hold more than one bag. This wonderful museum is well worth a visit---we loved it.
There was no time limit for the LL-York. We arrived at 10a and left at 5pm and it was all the same price.
Thank you for the information, it is very helpful. I was a little nervous that we would have to carry our luggage around for a few hours. Just carry-on but still not fun, thank you again.
Keep in mind that the left luggage in York is a five-minute walk south of the station, next to the Europcar office. Don't leave your luggage at the railroad museum--it's too far to schlep your bags there when the one near York station is closer.
