We will stopover on November 5 an 6 on way to So. Africa tour. We haven't see London for 30 years, so we want to see the top sights.
What is a good itinerary for two seniors as we adjust to the clock? Also, what is good location for hotel that is accessible to LHR Airport?
Any ideas?

Another current thread, "Hotel at Heathrow," relates closely to your question. If you have an evening landing and/or early morning departure, I'd recommend staying that night at an airport hotel. But if you have at least one night in London itself, much better for sightseeing, I'd recommend a place near a station on the Piccaddilly Underground line or near Paddington where the Heathrow Express comes and goes.
And I'm sure Claudia's PM has good advice, she's a fount of good London information and insight.
We stayed at Hotel Indigo near Paddington Station which is easy to get to by the Heathrow Express. It has easy access to the tube and trains and overlooked a park. We enjoyed the breakfast there as well as tea and scones in the afternoon.. If you have an early morning flight then it may be better to stay at an airport hotel.
