We are going to be in Salisbury in late May. We've researched and know you can get to Stonehedge by taxi, bus and on a tour, but a lot of the tours add in other destinations, Avebury, Bath etc. Does anyone know of a tour that only goes to Stonehedge. We would like to do the inner loop tour. Willing to pay for the option to do that but just want to do Stonehedge.

It is Stonehenge. And it is possible to buy just the bus ticket from the station to Stonehenge, or with options. https://www.thestonehengetour.info/

Just being picky, but the correct name is “ Stonehenge”.
Have a good visit there, it’s very interesting.
I was lucky enough to visit over 50 years ago when you could get right up beside the stones.

StoneHENGE. Nothing to do with HEDGES.
Inner Circle visits can be booked via English Heritage here: https://www.english-heritage.org.uk/visit/places/stonehenge/things-to-do/stone-circle-access-visits/
You will need to get to the Stonehenge visitor centre under your own steam. Your visit may coincide with a Stonehenge bus from Salisbury station but if not you can get a taxi.

Thanks to all for the correction. I think, I hope, I knew it was Stonehenge! Stonehedge is what seems to line every Irish roadway.

I've checked out the websites your kindly listed, now here is the challenge. We would like to do the Inner Circle which seems to run from 8 to 9 AM. The first Salisbury bus doesn't leave until 10AM. Has anyone had an experience with taking a taxi? And if so, can you take the bus back into Salisbury after visiting Stonehenge? Approximate cost of the taxi?

The tour bus does not run as early as 9am, but the service bus #X2 from Devizes to Salisbury calls at Stonehenge at 9.44.
Being a service bus, not a tourist one, it costs just £3 each.
EDIT- This is the most recent taxi fare chart I can find on the Wiltshire County Council website- https://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/media/1124/Tariff-Card/pdf/Tariff_Card_1_Dec_2022.pdf?m=1724316238493
So a taxi, for the ten mile journey should cost about £25.50 + about £20 for the dead mileage back to Salisbury- so c £45, lets round that to £50

at 1154 and 1354 into Salisbury, and 1313, 1413 and 1640 to Devizes (change for Bath).
The normal 'tour' bus is hourly from 1047 to 1647 then 1800 and 1900 to Salisbury (to Stonehenge from Salisbury hourly 1000 to 1600- as it is a tour bus there are no single fares but a return is £19.50 each- so for two of you it would almost be cheaper to call the same taxi company back if you missed that early service bus.
