Would love to join a small tour group. Any suggestions?

Look at National Trust UK web site or England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Visit Scotland, Secret Scotland, Scottish National Trust and other Scottish web sites for Scotland. Also World Heritage. As you may already know Stonehenge requires reserved tickets. Avebury may be closed a while for restoration. Woodhenge is near these two. There are some in the Cumbria part of the Lake Disrict. Most of the best stone works sites that are still intact are in remote locations such as the Vikings in Orkney. Ireland has many stone burial cairns. You might also be interested in the Roman stone relics such as Hadrian's Wall and the foundation of the city Wall and the roman heating system in Chester. And of course the Roman Baths in Bath. Many Tourists enjoy the relic Castles and Abbies. You can get wonderful photos of the carvings. Other posters may have more on stone circles that allow access to visitors.

Can't recommend any particular small group, but we did a trip on the stone circle theme on our own with a rental car and enjoyed it greatly.

There is an interactive online map with descriptions of all the stone circles in Great Britain. Ah -- I see it includes the island of Ireland too. Here you go:

Send me a private message if you want more details of where we went and our impressions of the various ones we visited.
