Stobart vs Aer Lingus Lake District to Dublin

Traveling to Lake District thru Manchester. After a stay we depart for Dublin. Considering flight on Stobart which I realize is a carrier for Aer Lingus. Can't find any reviews on Trip Advisor etc after 2017, wondering if their performance is as abysmal as what I've found. Of course the flight that works best for us the only one that is operated by Stobart. Is it worth delaying our departure to Fly Aer Lingus. If all things are fairly equal we will stay with earlier time as we are hoping to go on private tour on day of arrival in October

We have flown on the Aer Lingus partner, Stobart, between Ireland and the UK twice with no complaints. The main thing to be aware of is that the planes use a far-flung tarmac so you ride a shuttle bus to & from the terminal to the plane. This means, for example, when you're getting off the plane there is no use hurrying to get in front of the next passenger -- you will all end up on the same shuttle bus anyway.

I never checked Trip Advisor reviews regarding Stobart, but I would guess that people only bother to post when they want to vent about a bad experience.

When you refer to "delaying our departure to fly Aer Lingus," where would you be flying out of, or what kind of delay is involved?

OMG.....it's a 45 minute flight.

The only difference between Aer LIngus and Stobart is the type of airplane. Stobart flies turboprops. I have flown both and except for the type of airplane I couldn't tell the difference. The Stobart crew actually seemed a little friendlier.

When you check in for the Stobart Air flight you will do it at the Aer Lingus counter. The flight number will be Aer Lingus, the plane will say Aer Lingus, and the flight crew will be in Aer Lingus uniforms.

Other Consideration is Stobart's carry-on size allowance is more restrictive and with camera gear we don't dare check.
