Staying in Portsmouth

As part of a June trip we (2 adults) are thinking of staying in Portsmouth a few nights and sightseeing from there. We will have a car. Any B&B or small hotel recommendations? Thanks!

I researched Portsmouth accommodations for our own trip in June and finally settled on the Premier Inn in the City Center. Parking is in a garage a couple of minutes away but is pretty cheap.
We've stayed in Premier Inns in the UK several times and have always found them to be good value. The city center location is within easy walking distance of the Victory and the Mary Rose, fyi. https://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/hotels/england/hampshire/portsmouth.html

The Mercer Collection is a group of boutique hotels all in the Southsea district and not far from the seafront. https://www.themercercollection.co.uk/

The Queens Hotel, whilst not small, is an historic grand hotel that has recently changed ownership and undergone major refurbishment, it commands a great location on the seafront.

The Premier Inn, Portsmouth Dockyard, is a cheaper, more basic hotel but perfectly clean and comfortable. It's location near to the Historic Dockyard is a definite plus.

Bear in mind that I haven't personally stayed in any of these hotels as I only live about six miles away but these are the ones that spring to mind when anyone queries where to stay in Portsmouth.

I'm going to be in Portsmouth in April. I am staying at the Ship Leopard - its a boutique hotel near to the dockyards with a view of the harbour so everything is in walking distance. I haven't stayed there before but it did get good reviews in tripadvisor.
