Stansted Airport transfer time

Quick question here. My husband and I will be flying into Edinburgh in mid April; our flights to Scotland are all through RyanAir. We are carrying on only and are frequent, experienced travelers. We've booked all our flights but the last, from Stansted to Edinburgh.

We arrive in Stansted at 7:30pm. Option 1 is Ryan Air's 10pm flight that lands us in Edinburgh at 11:15. This is the safe option with plenty of time for our transfer. Option 2 is Easy Jet's 9pm flight that arrives an hour later, but I wonder if 90 minutes is enough time to transfer?

I'll probably go with the RyanAir flight because we aren't big risk takers but thought I'd ask, as we've never gone through Stansted before. Thanks!

Where are you actually flying from and can't you find a flight on one ticket?

But there is no way I would attempt a 90 minute self transfer at a London airport.

Badger- we're flying from Amman, Jordan to Vienna, then Vienna to Stansted. All Ryan Air. And no (about the one ticket). First of all it's already booked, but direct flights between Amman and London were quite expensive (and don't exist Amman- Edinburgh). I had my doubts that would be enough time so appreciate the confirmation.

If it's already booked, there might not be much to do, but doing this as a bunch of separate flights seems like inviting trouble. You don't need to travel through London if you want to go to Edinburgh, there are direct flights from Edinburgh to several other large European hubs and in my opinion it would be a lot easier to book the trip with an airline that actually offers connecting tickets. E.g. Amman to Edinburgh with a stop in Frankfurt on Lufthansa.

But, with an international arrival 90 minutes is not doable in my opinion. And to be honest, even 2.5 hours is less than I would be comfortable with.

three things in my opinion would argue for a later flight to Scotland....

first is that Brexit and the British implementation of it have well and truly gummed things up at the border.

Who knows how things will go during your visit, and I don't fly, let alone in and out of Stansted but I do drive past it fairly frequently, but I'd want to give as much flexibility as possible.

Second is somewhat related but different - the UK is in the depths of a mire of strikes at the moment. Yesterday over half a million workers were on strike across many many disciplines. One of the groups on strike yesterday were Border Force, the UK border customs and immigration service. It doesn't help things if you are trying to make a connection.

Third, and I'm sure you're aware of this, but Ryan Air does not check luggage through. Hopefully that won't affect you but if they take against one of your carryons you will be waiting by the belt with all the others. You already know that Ryan Air take the biscuit for picky. I wouldn't want to be there is time was tight. Oh, by the way, airport baggage handlers have been strike too.

At least you are travelling after Easter so families returning from holiday won't be in the way.
