St. Peter Port - Guernsey, Channel islands

We have a cruise ship stop here for a day. Does anyone have first hand knowledge of what's available? I read one post concerning a local bus that runs down to one of the beaches. Appreciate any intel.

I've never been there, BUT, have you read the "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society", book? It's terrific and set on the island. It was also made into a movie and I believe its on Amazon Prime. Lily James (Downton Abbey, Mama Mia here we go again) stars in it. I'd love to visit the island! Report back, please.

Will try and help, live in St PP.
The buses run all over the island, to loads of beaches, which one in particle? Also what date are you in on?
I would recomend reading Island Madness, same subject, but in my opinion blows Pot Peel out the water!!!! Its so much better.
A must see is Victor Hugos House, its where he lived when writting Les Miserable, an amazing house, nothing like it any where else in the world. But you must book before you leave for your cruise.
Hope that helps?

I am heading to Guernsey in July. Just in case your were thinking about going to Victor Hugo's house (Hauteville House) you will need to book way ahead. I was unable to figure out the website for tickets, so emailed the house and got an auto response that my email would be read in a week. Today, I got an email offering one time slot for the week that I am there. Apparently, you can only book via email or phone and pay when you get there.

Sadly, on our cruise stop there a couple of years ago, my travel companion, otherwise known as my sister, had taken ill and we did not see any of Guernsey at all.. All my planning for naught.
