Southwark Walking Sights

We will get to London on 19 September after Bath and hiking in the Cotswolds.
I haven't figured out the time for arriving yet (train from Moreton-in-Marsh to which station?)

We are staying in the Southwark area, and I'm wondering if we arrive late afternoon, should we just plan to stay around the neighborhood, have dinner (suggestions?) and see the sights within walking distance of our hotel?

Thank you all for your help! I know itinerary questions keep coming up and I really am trying to look back through past responses for ideas!

There’s plenty to see within walking distance of Southwark. It just depends how far you want to walk really. It’s only about 30 minutes along the South Bank to the London Eye and Westminster Bridge where you’ll find Big Ben on the other side of the river. You’re also really close to the Tate Modern which I never see people prioritising on here but to me it’s an essential London experience.
