Southeastern Rail

We purchased train tickets for travel between London and Dover. I am hoping someone can help me with a few questions:

  1. Are there luggage racks on these trains?
  2. Are the seats first come first serve? It does not appear that you can select seats in advance.
  3. Is it possible to take an earlier or later train at the station? I tried to change our train time on their website, but I could not figure out a way to do so.

Thanks for your help.

Are you travelling from St Pancras on HS1 or from Victoria?

HS1 has luggage racks at the end of each carriage for bigger bags and smaller overhead racks for briefcases. The Victoria service just had small overhead racks and space between seats for medium sized bags but nowhere for very large bags, other than by your seat. You don’t need seat reservations.

Depending on the type of ticket bought, you may or may not be able to take other services - what type have you purchased?

They are essentially commuter trains - no reserved seats.

If you have an Advance ticket that's only valid for the booked train. Off Peak or Anytime tickets allow you to take other trains.

The ticket say off - peak tickets.

number 2 - yes

number 3 - if you have in fact got Off-Peak tickets they are valid on any off-peak train all day on the day printed on the ticket.
