Southampton to Paris

Hello all,

I am looking at arriving back from a cruise into Southampton on a Saturday and want to get to Paris that day. I have looked at flights and the only one coming up on a Saturday leaves at 7.30am, which we will not be able to make.

Is it difficult to get there by train and how long would that take?

Thanks for any assistance.

Train from Southampton to London, a couple of tube rides to St Pancras, and the Eurostar to Paris.

About five hours.

The key is timing for the Eurostar. The run up to London is a couple per hour (check the Saturday frequency). The tube requires no timing.

I like Ed's suggestion. You'd need to take a taxi from the cruise terminal to the railway station (£8 ?) and also you may want to take a taxi from Waterloo Station in London to St. Pancras for the Eurostar, rather than the underground with luggage. Once when we were a party of four, we booked a private transfer from the dock in S'hampton to our London hotel. I can't remember what it cost us (it was in 2005) but it was just a bit more expensive per person than train fares plus taxis.

Thanks all for the quick responses....appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Wonderful, the date I am looking at is Saturday 25 July 2015. As it is more than 12 months out, I could not find flights for that day, so I was just basing my results on randomly picking a Saturday for flight timetables. You seemed to already have had better results that I have.
