Our cruise leaves out of Southampton next month, and we're having trouble finding a hotel. We'd like to keep it below $300 a night in the City Centre area. We've looked on a few websites but not much availability or the reviews are not good. Appreciate any suggestions.

Premier Inn West Quay. Well located, moderately priced.

I stayed at the less expensive Ibis across from the more expensive Ibis.
Very close to Port.. I do not know if this was the City Center or not.
This Ibis was okay. I remember it being clean. Had everything I needed.

If worse comes to worse, there is a Premier Inn across from Southampton Airport.
It's a quick train or taxi ride into town.
